Mask Time Again

The Fort Collins Museum of Art has a fundraiser every year using masks as the creative focal point. Local artists and others can design and decorate a ceramic mask form any way they choose, and the finished masterpiece is auctioned off after the museum hosts an exhibit of all these amazing creations. It's a fun challenge for me each year, and a great way to raise money for the Art Museum. My design this time around features some of my illustrated characters in a sort of 3D paper, or pop up book style. So fun to do! I think I'll be doing more in the near future.

I called it 'Imagination' since behind our everyday 'mask' everyone can have different, incredible things going on in an imaginative world only they can see.

I made a paperclay cast of the original mask.

Printed and cut out characters and background in three levels, and attached inside mask
